Meet Clinical Medical Assistant Student
Taylor McMillan!
Taylor McMillan has been a student in the online Clinical Medical Assistant program at East Ohio College since June 2022. Her hometown is Weirton, WV, and she is a graduate of Brooke High School. When Taylor decided to go to college, she explored different options and decided that East Ohio College was the best fit for her busy schedule and where she wanted to be. She said that when she visited the campus for her entrance interview, she was impressed with how neat everything looked and how nice everyone was during the visit, “everyone was so kind it locked me in.”
Taylor has experience in the medical field. Before enrolling at East Ohio College, she started working as a Certified Nurse Assistant in a geriatric center and continues to work in that position while attending college. The East Ohio College online program offers her the flexibility needed to balance an unpredictable and challenging work schedule successfully and all her college coursework. Taylor’s favorite part of attending East Ohio College is “Meeting new people. Everyone is so kind.” Taylor has a passion for helping and serving the elderly community. When asked to describe her ideal job after graduation, she replied, “My ideal job would be working at a hospital on a floor with a lot of old people. I have a big heart for old people.”
Taylor’s favorite teacher is Mrs. Scott, and her favorite class so far is medical terminology. After graduating, Taylor’s game plan is to continue working with the elderly and advancing her career and education by enrolling in a nursing program and obtaining her goal of becoming a registered nurse. Taylor has enjoyed her experience at East Ohio College and would encourage her friends to enroll because “They have the kindest and caring people there.” When Taylor is not at work or doing school work, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, going on nature walks, and binge-watching Grey’s Anatomy.
