Meet One of Our New Admissions Team Members, Josie Mettenberger!
East Ohio College is excited to welcome the newest member of the East Ohio family, Josie Mettenberger. Josie joined the team as an Admissions Team Member in September 2022. Admissions team members are an integral part of the East Ohio team and serve as the first point of contact a prospective student has with the college. They are often the very important first impression of prospective students with the college. The admissions department is responsible for successfully coaching new students through the application and orientation process.
Josie graduated from Southern Local High School and completed some Kent State University courses successfully. She offers professional experience from her previous employment as the activity director at Lancia Villa Vista and various positions with the United States Postal Service.
Josie states, “She was drawn to East Ohio College because everyone seemed really down to earth and the teamwork atmosphere.” She could tell that everyone really cares about helping others succeed, and she has felt welcomed as part of a family since day one. Her favorite memory since starting here was learning about Bert, our campus ghost.
Josie has one son, who is five years old, and two stepsons (12 & 14), representing her primary motivation source. Her number one goal in life is to be the best mother and stepmother she can be to her children. When asked what she is most proud of, Josie stated that building a life with her husband that has set our boys up for success in life, as well as being able to lead by example so they can be proud to have us as their parents and role models represent her primary goal.
Josie enjoys spending time with her family and friends when not at work. She enjoys riding side by sides, going four-wheeling, and loves to cook and bake for family and friends. Josie also enjoys watching mystery and true crime shows. In addition, Josie has a successful small business producing screen-printed items such as shirts, tumblers, mugs, bags, and blankets.
