In Jessica’s new position as Orientation Coordinator, she works closely with new students as they start their classes at East Ohio College, West Virginia Junior College (WVJC), and United Career Institute (UCI). The Orientation Coordinator serves as a campus partner liaison with other offices and departments to ensure the smooth transition of new students into their academic program. They address new student concerns and are available to answer any new students or their families’ questions.

In addition, they serve as a valuable resource and refer new students to campus services as needed. When asked why she chose to work at EOC, she stated, “When I attended school here, it always felt like I was around family. I knew it would be a great work environment”.

She also states, “I found the thought of being involved in a student’s education process as something that would be interesting as well as rewarding.” Jessica says her favorite part of working for EOC is the students, “I love creating close relationships with them and watching them achieve their goals. My coworkers are pretty amazing too”.

Her favorite memory while working at EOC is Halloween. She says, “We dress up and have fun with it. A couple of years ago, I dressed up as Ms. Trunchbull from the movie Matilda, and a coworker dressed as Buddy the Elf”.

Jessica is motivated by her husband. She explains, “My husband and I have the goal of ‘leveling up..’ He motivates me to work harder and to achieve the dreams we have in our life”. Jessica is also most proud of her husband, along with her nieces. She goes on to say, “He’s such a hard worker and an amazing person.” And my nieces. I love watching them grow up into these amazing, kind, caring little people”. Outside of work, Jessica is a homebody who enjoys reading and spending time with her nieces. Something that people may not know about her is, “I can forget something I did yesterday, but can remember song lyrics like no other.”
