East Ohio College now offers an online Dental Assisting program. Classes such as dental terminology, dental science, dental practice management, and dental office procedures are accessed through East Ohio’s user-friendly online platform. East Ohio College’s very own Jamie Stine says, “I am extremely excited for this new online program.” East Ohio’s online program prepares students to be career-ready, and it is designed to prepare them for the opportunity to sit for the Registered Credentialed Dental Assistant certification*.
Near the end of the students’ online classes and interactive lab experiences, students are required to complete an externship at various general and specialty dentistry offices! This on-the-job training allows students to test the knowledge and skills they cultivated during their coursework and clinicals to further those lessons in customer service and patient satisfaction. After completing this program, graduates are employable in various dental environments, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, periodontics, and orthodontics.
You can earn your associate’s degree in just 18 months. This program is very unique: “There are five well-structured clinical classes to still provide the hands-on needed,” said Jamie Stine, Dental Assisting Program Director. Students have flexibility in completing coursework while balancing family and work responsibilities.
