Direct Admission

East Ohio College applies a direct admission approach, allowing students to spend less time in school taking classes unrelated to their program of study. Students in the LPN to RN Bridge program will not be required to take general courses, including psychology, chemistry, fundamentals of nursing, pharmacology, nutrition and diet therapy, and medical/surgical nursing I. This allows students to focus more on the nursing classes they need to earn their associate degree in nursing.

Accelerated Classes and Hands-On Experience

Another benefit of East Ohio College’s LPN to RN Bridge program is that students will experience accelerated classes, allowing them to spend less time in school. Because of the accelerated approach East Ohio utilizes, students will gain valuable hands-on experience. While in the classroom, students spend more time learning concepts such as the nursing process, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Then our students apply their knowledge during hands-on lab and clinical experiences.

Additionally, East Ohio nursing students will have the opportunity to build relationships with local employers before graduating, which can give them with an advantage when it comes time to start looking for a job. Nursing students will complete clinical rotations where they care for actual patients at some of the following local healthcare facilities: Akron Children’s Hospital, Covington Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, Heritage Valley Health System, and more.
