Meet Dr. Kacey Eagle!
East Ohio College (EOC) is excited to introduce our Allied Health Programs Director, Dr. Kacey Eagle. Her dedication, teamwork, and commitment to student success are an integral part of EOC’s allied healthcare training programs. Life Before EOC
In 2002, Dr. Kacey Eagle began her nursing education at West Virginia Northern, where she earned her Associate of Applied Science. Little did she know this experience would be the beginning of a lifelong commitment to healthcare and education.
Driven by the pursuit of knowledge and passion for helping others, Dr. Eagle continued her education by earning a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and then a Doctorate degree. In 2019, she earned her Doctorate in Health Administration, with a specialization in Gerontological Studies and Education.
Throughout her career, Dr. Eagle has had the privilege of working in diverse healthcare settings. She has been a part of clinics, long-term care facilities, and in-home health services, and even spent a significant period working with the government during the implementation of the Affordable Care Act from 2012 to 2015. These experiences allowed her to understand healthcare comprehensively from various angles, from direct patient care to policy implementation.
After completing her work on the Affordable Care Act project, her role concluded as the project evolved and its needs shifted. It was in this moment of uncertainty that she joined WVJC as an adjunct instructor in 2015. Within just five weeks, she was offered the role of Medical Office Administration Program Director. This chance opportunity marked the beginning of a new chapter in her career, and she has continued to grow professionally and share her knowledge with students.
Her Commitment to Students
Dr. Eagle is passionate about education and helping future healthcare professionals succeed. For 11 years, she has served as the Allied Health Programs Director and Instructor at East Ohio College and its sister institutions, West Virginia Junior College and United Career Institute. In her role, she handles various responsibilities, including teaching, curriculum design, and program leadership, all of which focus on supporting and empowering her students.
Dr. Eagle says that her greatest joy is seeing others succeed. There’s a special fulfillment in knowing she has contributed, even in a small way, to someone’s achievement. It warms her heart to see her students excel and leave their mark in healthcare.
Throughout her more than a decade at WVJC, EOC, and UCI, she has grown to treasure the close-knit community around her. Her work family reflects the core values of her institution and supports her through life’s challenges. She is equally dedicated to offering her students robust support and encouragement as they pursue their education.
EOC’s Allied Healthcare Programs
East Ohio College offers multiple online programs for students pursuing careers in healthcare, including Clinical Medical Assistant, Medical Office Administration, Medical Coding, and Dental Assisting.
These hybrid/online programs feature virtual instruction, much of which is designed by Dr. Eagle herself, combined with hands-on training in lab and clinical settings, as well as an externship experience. This blend of online classes with in-person application allows students to balance college with personal responsibilities and earn an Associate Degree in two years or less.
Additionally, East Ohio College offers online/hybrid Nursing programs in Youngstown and East Liverpool, as well as online Business Administration and Cybersecurity programs.
