East Ohio Staff Highlight – Craig Monte, Career Management Director
East Ohio College is excited to welcome the newest member of the East Ohio family, Craig Monte. Craig joined East Ohio College as the campus’ Career Management Director in June of 2022 and is quickly becoming an important part of our team. He is on campus Monday through Friday, available to help current and former students find placements and build successful portfolios to obtain jobs in their chosen career fields.
Craig is a Beaver Local graduate. He went on to earn a B.B. in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. Craig previously worked as an account manager at M.E.S.O., Inc. in Calcutta, Ohio, and as a State Trooper with the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Craig was also previously an engineer in the U.S. Navy before coming to us here at East Ohio College. When asked why he chose to work here, Craig said, “It’s because of the personal reward of helping graduates obtain employment in their chosen field of study.” His favorite part of working at East Ohio College is quoted as “the professional and fun staff I will be working with every day.”
Something interesting that has happened to Craig that many people do not know is he says, “The first night of our honeymoon in the Caribbean, the ship struck a coral reef that ripped a hole in the bottom of the ship. We had to be evacuated in a Titanic way, and it took several very interesting days to get home.” What an adventurous way to spend his honeymoon!
Craig is motivated by “Reminding myself on a regular basis that every day is a gift. It motivates me to be productive and maintain a positive attitude.” He is proud of his family. He loves watching and helping his kids grow and progress through life and be productive. And outside of campus, he enjoys walking several miles every day. As well as being an active member of his church. When Craig is not busy helping East Ohio College graduates, he cooks out on the grill most weekends and watches a lot of baseball.
