Meet Chelsea Gianni!

At East Ohio College (EOC), Regional Director of Nursing Chelsea Gianni brings years of clinical, educational, and leadership experience, along with a passion for helping nursing students succeed. Keep reading this blog for a look into Chelsea’s professional journey, her aspirations for EOC’s future, and her personal motivators.
Chelsea’s Journey to East Ohio College
Before becoming a nurse educator, Chelsea’s own education began at the WVU School of Nursing, where she earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
She has held multiple positions throughout her career that have led to her position at EOC, including a nurse in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, a Family Nurse Practitioner at a primary care facility, and a leadership role overseeing Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. The culmination of these experiences shaped Chelsea’s perspective as she stepped into the role of Dean of Nursing at West Virginia Junior College in 2023.
Since then, her job responsibilities have also expanded as the family of career-training schools grows. Now overseeing East Ohio College’s Youngstown and East Liverpool Nursing programs and WVJC School of Nursing locations including Morgantown, Elkins, Greenbrier, Logan, Spencer, and Wheeling, Chelsea Gianni has the opportunity to make an impact on students in Ohio, West Virginia, and the surrounding states.
“I saw an opportunity to make a meaningful impact, not only on our students but on healthcare throughout the region by helping educate the next generation of nurses,” Chelsea said.
Expanding Nursing Education
As the Regional Director of Nursing, Chelsea Gianni has ambitious goals for the future of nursing training. She hopes to continue building and strengthening East Ohio College’s online/hybrid Nursing programs, while preparing exceptional nurses who make a long-lasting impact on their communities. For Chelsea Gianni, working in nursing education provides an opportunity to make an impact that reaches far beyond the classroom.
“Every student we graduate has the opportunity to positively influence hundreds, if not thousands, of lives throughout their career,” Chelsea said. “That’s something I’m incredibly proud to be part of.”
She also hopes to continue developing innovative nursing experiences, strengthen partnerships with regional healthcare organizations, and provide an environment where students feel supported throughout their nursing education.
Family-First Values
One of the things that initially attracted Chelsea Gianni to the family of schools was the relationships, both within the organization and toward students. The commitment to student-centered education was one of the significant reasons she became a part of the team.
Her focus on connection does extend beyond the classroom; when she is not at work, Chelsea says you can find her spending time with her husband and two sons. Her family is her biggest motivator; she says that she is grateful she’s able to have a career she loves while teaching her boys the importance of compassion, hard work, and serving others.
“On a personal level, my husband, my two boys, my family, and my closest friends motivate me every day,” says Chelsea. “They remind me to strive for excellence while keeping what matters most at the center of everything I do.”
