Career Fair

East Ohio was thrilled to spend one of these elusive beautiful summer days hosting over 20 local employers for its 2019 Community Career Fair on Thursday, July 18, 2019. Students and members of the community took full advantage of the sunshine and enjoyed meeting with recruiters and hiring managers from a variety of industries related to their East Ohio 2019 Career Fair particular programs or career fields. Many students in the medical, nursing, dental, and business programs were offered interviews for potential externship or employment opportunities. In attendance were: Heritage Valley Health System, Mercy Health, Weirton Medical Center, East Liverpool City Hospital, North American Dental Group, Hill International Trucks, Robert Half, Acuity Healthcare, U.S. Army, Opportunity Homes, Always Best Care, Windsor House Inc., Primerica, Lifesteps, Community Action Agency of Columbiana County, Brighton Rehab and Wellness, Western and Southern Life, Rue 21, The Orchards, Companion Care, and Allstate.

During the event, employers were invited to choose and attend a series of student skills expos. Here they had the opportunity to watch students in each program perform hands-on skills in the lab or classroom. They were impressed by the medical assistants’ blood draws, the dental assistants’ impressions, the medical office administrative students’ medical coding, and the business administration students’ “mockumentary” of East Ohio’s very own version of “The Office”.

Feedback from the participating employers was exceptionally positive, focusing primarily on how impressed they were with the quality and professional level of questions that candidates asked. They were also thrilled to meet with an extensive and diverse talent pool and to attend such a unique outdoor event. Many were very eager to meet with program directors and to schedule future opportunities to return to the school to meet with students.
