Every November, the healthcare industry celebrates Allied Healthcare Professionals Week, a chance to recognize the hard work and dedication of medical professionals who make a difference every day. This year, the recognition week was held from November 3rd through 7th.
Allied Healthcare Professionals Week offered an opportunity to appreciate the vital roles that allied healthcare professionals play in keeping a healthcare facility running smoothly and improving the patient experience. This dedicated time helps acknowledge these professionals’ contributions, celebrate achievements, and inspire the next generation of allied healthcare professionals.

The theme for Allied Healthcare Professionals Week 2025 was “Stronger Together,” which signifies the importance of a well-rounded medical team. Each path within the healthcare field offers unique advantages and challenges, yet all avenues work closely together to ensure patients receive the best possible care.
In healthcare, no one works alone. A patient’s journey relies on members of every healthcare department collaborating to ensure a positive healing experience. Allied healthcare professionals, specialized healthcare professionals, doctors, and other medical team members play interconnected roles that keep the healthcare system running smoothly. EOC’s Allied Healthcare Training Programs

Each program at EOC is designed to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and real-world experience needed to succeed in the healthcare field. East Ohio College’s flexible, online programs are offered in the following allied healthcare areas:
Dental Assisting
EOC’s Dental Assisting program trains students to support the dental team by providing chairside care, taking X-rays and dental impressions, sterilizing instruments, and performing administrative tasks.
Clinical Medical Assistant
EOC’s Clinical Medical Assistant program prepares students for both patient-facing and administrative roles in healthcare settings, including taking vital signs, performing minor in-office procedures, managing patient records, and scheduling.
Medical Office Administration
EOC’s Medical Office Administration program equips students with the skills necessary to keep healthcare facilities running smoothly behind the scenes. With knowledge in billing, coding, insurance processing, and office management, these professionals keep medical offices organized and efficient.
Medical Coding
EOC’s Medical Coding program trains students for the detail-oriented role of managing medical billing and coding. With training in ICD-10 and complex medical codes, these professionals ensure that medical procedures and diagnoses are correctly recorded.
